Arroyo Grande is a small town on the coast with a mix of historic, suburban and rural cultures. It is one of the cities included in "The Five Cities" metropolitan area and has a total area of 5.8 sq. miles according to the US Census. The climate is a temperate-mediterranean climate. Population according to the census was 17,716 in 2013.
Arroyo Grande is known for the historic downtown village which offers small town boutique shops and great restaurants. It is home of the annual Strawberry Festival in the summer, and also the Annual Harvest Festival in October. Arroyo Grande is minutes away from multiple beach areas, including Pismo Beach, the Oceano Dunes, and Avila Beach.
